Welcome to our Class Blog...

I'm hoping you all will find this class feature a useful tool in increasing your own facility with the English language. I want you to use this blog as a place to explore--in language--your initial responses to the reading and to the writing prompts I'll routinely be presenting you with (you may consider your blogs very rough drafts in preparation for your more formal responses to these prompts).

I'm also expecting that you will get in the habit of regularly reading and commenting upon each others' posts.

Keep in mind that this is a public forum--as such, not only can I and the other members of the class view your posts and comments, so can the administration and your parents (gasp!). So while I have no problem if the writing here is relatively informal (it's meant to be), I want to make sure that you keep it appropriate (will discuss this distinction further as the semester progresses).

Keep in mind, too, that regular blogging (and commenting on others' posts) is an easy way to boost your grade.

For now, I'd like each of you to create an initial post and to comment on at least two of your classmates posts.
